The candidates who are willing to make a career in Polytechnics must go through the written exam first. Depending on the merit list, they will be provided with the government or non – government polytechnics that are there in the State of Kerala.

About Kerala Polytechnic Admission
The Kerala Polytechnic Diploma is present in two streams, one is the Diploma in Engineering/ Technology and the other one is the Diploma in Commercial Practice/ Management. The students have to go through six semesters no matter which Diploma course they choose. Eligibility Criteria for Kerala Polytechnic Admission 2016
Citizenship: The aspirant must be a citizen of India and a native of the state of Kerala. The candidates who have appeared for an examination in any institution in the state of Kerala can also apply for this examination. If the parents of the aspirant are a permanent employee of the State or Central or Quasi government or the PSUs in Kerala, then also the candidate will be able to sit for the examination.
Age Limit: The minimum age limit set for this exam is that of 17 years as of the examination year.
Educational Qualification: The candidates need to be a minimum of 10+2 pass from a recognized Board or equivalent with 50% marks.

The general candidates will have to pay Rs. 100, but if the candidate belongs to the SC or St category, then they need to pay only Rs. 50. The aspirant need to pay the amount through DD in the favor of “Commissioner for Entrance Examinations, payable at Thiruvanathapuram”.
